bye bye Christmas vacation ;(

Christmas vacation ends tomorrow. T is heading back to school and I am bummed that it is over. Even though we didn't go anywhere, I have thoroughly enjoyed this Christmas vacation. Dan was off work for a week too, so we slept in (till 7-8am everyday-unheard of for us!) and just hung out for most of the time. Very enjoyable. The gym was closed for half my classes for the last two weeks, so my self-imposed "schedule" was altered. I have to admit, I really enjoyed staying home. Even though I love my classes and my teachers, and the comraderie of my friends in the classes... it was nice not to go. It resulted in a much more relaxed and laid back week. I still worked out at home, but I saved an hour a day in travel time, plus I didn't have to get the girls up and around and out the door. I almost don't want to go back to my "regular schedule":

Monday-work all day at office, p/u girls from grandma's, head to gymnastics, grab takeout for dinner on the way home.
Tuesday-T off to school, gym, make dinner while T goes to basketball, have dinner ready when she gets home with daddy. Or go to basketball with them, then grab Mazzios buffet for dinner on the way home.
Wednesday-stay home and clean house. make dinner, church at night.
Thursday- gym again, thursday night kids eat free at fish shack for dinner.
Friday-gym again, its Friday, so find a restaurant and go.
Saturday-stay home, misc stuff at home. Its Saturday, head to town for dinner.
Sunday-church, lunch, home to rest, grab misc stuff to eat for dinner (I typically don't cook Sunday night dinners-cereal is my meal of choice lol).
Then repeat.

But vacation is over until May rolls around, so this is my schedule and here we go...

I SOOOO hear ya Rene! I completely agree... I love love love our classes at the gym...but they do take up SO MUCH TIME!!! I leave at 8:30 and don't get home until about 11 when I have to shower and get "ready". That means I'm 'out of pocket' for like 4 hours everytime I go. Still, I think if I stopped completely, I would be miserable. I need you guys to keep me motivated and it really rejuvinates my mood and energy to be around all of you there.
But, I know what you mean about the whole schedule thing. It's always rush, rush, rush, huh?

Okay...we need to talk about your eating out habit. I'm going to make it my personal mission to get you cooking. It will save you money and be SO MUCH BETTER for the health of your entire family. I'm no chef by any means...but when you can make a delicious, nutritious meal in your own home in 20 minutes and for less than $10...why would you want to go out and spend $20-$30, take the time to drive to town and probably not eat nearly as healthily?
The clean up part is definitely not fun...but if you get everyone involved, it really doesn't take too long.
I don't really care about how much money you spend or how far you drive...BUT...I do want to help you acheive your 2007 body again...and I'm pretty sure you're not gonna find it at The Fish Shack!
hee hee

Ps. Ashley's comment is hilarious!

LOL yeah I know its kind of ridiculous. But I actually like it except for the fact that not every restaurant offers something really healthy (I mean who only wants to only eat salad when at a pizzeria and u can smell the pizza?) If I had a chef cooking for me at home I wouldn't go out, but I really don't like cooking that much. IF I plan it ahead(buy the groceries and plot it on my calendar) then I don't mind too much, but its when time is an issue that I don't want to cook, I'd rather have someone else do it. Plus, I honestly LOVE going out to eat. Even in the infamous year of 2007, we ate out a lot (at least 3-4 times a week), but the difference was we weren't ordering appetizers, and we were ordering healthy things and splitting them between Dan and I. We are going to start this again. Got to put a hold on those Mozzerella sticks ;( Anyway, I would welcome quick (love the 20 minute idea), easy, healthy menus, so please share!!! :) When bball ends at the end of Feb, I'll be back to cooking on tues nights regularily anyway :)

I always say though, that's why I have to work out so hard is because I love eating out :) Thanks for the comments :)

we all know you don't like to cook, but WHEN you do, don't forget about my recipe blog--we have a whole category labeled FAST.

I just recommend you stay away from the "Cookies & Candy" category! =)

And Jen, I'd love to have you join The Bad Girl's Kitchen and contribute recipes there, if you're interested at all Rene' has my email...or you can leave a comment on the blog.
