Anniversary Special

Well, as promised, I put together a little "recap" through photos (I LOVE photos) of the history of Dan and I. We began dating our senior year in high school. We were best friends before we began dating, so there were a few "rocky" moments before we transitioned into a "couple". Its that whole thing of not realizing you like someone as more than a friend, but then you are wondering why you are mad and jealous of the person they are dating, if you are "just friends" anyway? LOL
Here is a picture of us getting ready for our Senior Prom. (The dress I wore that year had actually been my grandmother's! I found it in storage and had Dan's mom-who can sew really well- cut off the sleeves, turn it into a sweetheart neckline, shorten it, and take it in. I loved it, and it was really cool to wear something that was once my grandmother's).

These two photos are taken at Christmas, our senior year of college. After dating for 5 years, Dan proposed to me on Christmas. (He wrapped the ring in a shoebox with an old shoe and socks! to try to fool me). Yes, my eyes are all red from bawling!

These photos below were taken while we were trying to pose for our "engagement picture" for the paper. Still in college.

Kissy, kissy ;)

Yeah! We graduated! That's Dan and I with my parents on our college graduation day.

Finally! The wedding day! May 9, 1992. We graduated from college one Saturday, got married the next Saturday, then packed up a moving van and moved from Michigan to Las Vegas the third Saturday to start our married lives together. :)

Now here's a cute picture... looks like Dan is waiting for his wife to serve him dinner. Notice the table is EMPTY! All I could cook for the first 6 years of our marriage was spaghetti from a jar "pasta with red sauce and mushrooms" I would call it to make it sound fancy LOL, and macaroni and cheese. Oh, and hamburger helper too. Boy, he didn't know I was such a culinary expert when he married me did he? LOL

Here was a photo we took before going out to a fancy dinner on what I believe was our first anniversary. Doesn't Dan look like he's 12 years old! LOL Boy have we changed, as you can see from our blog site photo-definately not looking like a teenager anymore :)
So there you have it. Our 22 years together (17 married), via pictures. I love him more today than ever before , although I don't even know how its possible to keep loving more than previously. He is my love, my support, my friend, and the wonderful father to our girls. I love him and I thank God everyday for putting him in my life and having a plan greater than ours. It was God's plan for us to unite, and it was through Dan that I was able to learn to KNOW and love Christ. Dan taught me and showed me that marriages are meant to be forever, and that you never give up on a promise/covenant that you have made. I respect and honor him so much and I am so grateful to God that He put Dan in my life to help me see and understand His Word.
I hope if you are reading this, that you take a moment to think about your own marriage and the love you have for each other, and the love God has for you. If you are not married yet, know that God has a plan for everything and everyone. We don't always know or understand His plans, but He will be sure to show you if you will have ears to listen. God loves you!

So...thanks. I'm crying now. But happy tears! I was all giggly till I got to that last paragraph where you talk about your marraige...now I'm all sappy and emotional! ha ha
We really do need to get these husbands of ours together. I have a feeling it is not a coincidence that we met, live in the same town, work out at the same gym, have daughters the same age.....
God always knows what He's doing!
Congratulations on a wonderful marriage! It's so exciting to have the kind of marriage that God wants for us!
