Ignorance is not bliss

Yesterday I found out that we have a whole lot of blackberries (or boysenberries, I'm not sure which) growing wild along the treeline of our yard. I decided it would be fun to pick them with the kids. So as I am standing knee-deep in weeds/forest brush,

I say to Dan, "Look at these berries we're picking!"

Dan: " You better get out of there, its full of poison ivy!"

Me: "I don't see any poison ivy"

Dan:" YOU don't know what poison ivy looks like!"

Me: " That's why I don't see any!"

Well, this morning when I found red bumps all over the bottom of my legs I realized that maybe ignorance is not bliss. Just because you don't know what something looks like doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
