This was the bib I was supposed to wear in the Route 66 marathon I was supposed to run on November 22. If you've read my older posts you'll know that I quit training for this event after about 5 weeks. Therefore, I wasn't ready or able to complete or attempt the 26.2 mile run. However, since I had prepaid for my entry fee(no refunds) I went and picked up my marathon packet (to at least get a tshirt out of the deal). I was surprised when I pulled out the bib. I did NOT expect it to have my name and city on it and the words "my first full marathon". It made me so sad, I wanted to cry. Oooohhh, I wish I had trained so that I could have worn that bib, and EARNED the really awesome, HEAVY finishers medals they gave out. My friend Mandy showed me hers and they were beautiful-even the strap was cool with the name and date on it-not just a plain strap. I don't know if or when I'll run a marathon, although I think it would be a really awesome accomplishment-but it sure would be cool if someday I could. We'll see.

Awww...I can imagine your 'sadness' about this. I'll tell ya, watching those Biggest Loser people run that marathon certainly made me think "I could do that! I SHOULD do that!"
Of course, you were with me on my little 5K and you saw how I thought I was going to die...so you might advise me otherwise! ha ha
BL made me think: maybe you don't really have to "TRAIN" for it so much...!?!?!
