Cracking the Geode

At the Museum of Natural Science they had tons of beautiful gems and rocks on display. They also had geodes for sale. You could pick one out, then they would crack it open and you would get to keep it, but it was a surprise what sort of crystal formation would be on the inside. The girls were infatuated with this so we did it. T especially was very excited. We later found little stands for them to sit on for display. They are very pretty.
