She was honored yesterday at her school for several things at the afternoon assembly, one of which was to be named one of the Star Students in her class!!!!
We are so proud of her and she was so excited. It was a surprise to her so she was really overwhelmed and happy when they called her name. Evidently, it is voted upon by her fellow classmates and two students from each class are honored with the title at each assembly. I had to laugh because as we were driving home she says to me "you know Mom, my classmates voted for this. That means they really like me!" I laughed and smiled and said "and maybe they also know you are a good student", she said "well, yea, I help lots of groups with their work".
lol
I thought it was kinda cute that she was 'so happy' that her friends and classmates liked her. I look at the younger classes she has been in and I can see how kids always love and accept everyone when they are young, but we've all seen or experienced that in older grades cliques can form and sometimes kids don't behave as we would hope they would. I don't see this much yet in her grade (4th), but evidently she is at that age where 'being liked' is starting to have a meaning or definition (whereas, in kindergarten everyone is 'liked)'. So I was glad to see she was happy (as her parent), but I also wanted to remind her that its not about 'being liked' , its about doing your job right (ie in school that would be getting good grades). But regardless, she is happy and we are so happy for her. Here are some pictures.

| There she goes down the tunnel :) |
All in all, it was an exciting assembly for her and she was very happy. We are very proud of her as well :)

Super Cute! What a little scholar you've got there! I wish her love of reading would rub off on B. I can't seem to get her interested in books...which is hard for me to understand because I was just like T.-my head was in a book constantly! :)
Congratulations T.!!!
